In 1929, the Galveston Diocesan Council of Catholic Women organized at the urging of U.S. Catholic bishops to affiliate with the National Council of Catholic Women. As an early project, the women of the Diocese of Galveston established an endowment fund in support of seminarians. This fund was incorporated in 1933 and named The Catholic Clerical Student Fund (CCSF) and remains a major focus of the G-H ACCW members.
