CCSF
Our motto is “To the Greater Glory of God”. We meet quarterly on the 3rd Tuesday of January, March, June, and September. The Bluebonnet Deanery is comprised of women from the parishes of St. Mary’s in Frydek, Sts. Peter & Paul in Bellville, Immaculate Conception in Industry and Immaculate Conception in Sealy.
Objectives:
To unite Catholic organizations of women of the Bluebonnet Deanery in purpose, direction, and action in religious, educational, social, and economic fields. To stimulate Catholic organizations of women to greater efficiency and usefulness in meeting the needs of the times with gospel values and to render them with assistance. To serve as a medium through which the Catholic women of the Bluebonnet Deanery may speak and act as a unit on all matters of public interest. To establish relations with other civic and social groups in an endeavor to create interest in, and to aid in, the solution of present-day moral, educational, social, and economic problems.
Projects:
+ Rosary Making Workshops – are held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month (except during the month we have a quarterly meeting. We meet for 2 hours. The ladies generally will take home supplies and make more rosaries and bring them back at our next workshop.
+ Household Shower – at our March meeting. Items are collected for about a month prior to our meeting. Each parish in our deanery collects items in the back of their churches, then brings them to the March meeting. Items are distributed to Wellsprings Village in Houston and Focusing Families in Hempstead
+ Baby Shower – at our June meeting. Items are collected for about a month prior to our meeting. Each parish in our deanery collects items in the back of their churches, then brings them to the June meeting. Items are distributed to the Sealy Pregnancy Center in Sealy and New Beginnings in Brenham.
+ Seafarer’s Shoeboxes – at our September meeting. Items are collected for about a month prior to our meeting. Each parish in our deanery collects items in the back of their churches, then brings them to the September meeting. Items collected are stuffed in plastic shoeboxes and wrapped in Christmas paper. The shoeboxes are taken to the Port of Houston Seafarer Center for distribution.
+ Lap Blankets & Wheelchair Bags – This is random. Sometimes a Sewing workshop is held whenever an abundance of fabric is available. The patterns are cut and either sewn at the workshop or sent home for ladies to sew. They are taken to our local nursing home and/or the Veterans Hospital in Houston for distribution.
+ CCSF – We support CCSF in all of our parishes. Each parish has a representative.
+ Water For Life – Monetary donation
